When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your postoperative care and medication instructions. If any questions arise after your pet returns home or at any other time during the postoperative period, call us. We welcome your questions and will do all we can to help your pet recover fully.
Surgery, What to expect
Surgical Policy
Our standard pre-surgical policy for dogs and cats is for the pets to have no food (water is ok) after midnight the night before surgery.
All surgeries are admitted between 7:30 and 8:30 am. At that time, a technician will review the scheduled procedure, answer any questions and give you an estimate of anticipated costs.
Once your pet’s procedure is completed they will be moved to our recovery area. The Veterinarian or a Technician will contact you once all of the surgeries have been completed for the day and update you on your pet’s recovery.
Most of our surgery patients are released the same day. Our team will let you know what time you can pick your pet up and give you detailed instructions on home care for your pet in the days or weeks following a procedure.
